Double-walled drill pipe

A double-walled drill pipe consists of an outer pipe and an inner pipe. The annulus formed between the outer wallof the inner pipe and the inner wall of the outer pipe serves as a channel for transporting gas or gas-liquid mixtures. The central bore of the inner pipe acts as the path for cuttings. During operation, the outer pipes are connected viathreads, while the inner pipes are joined through a stab-in (or insertion) method.
